How to use it
Installation:
- Download the file and extract all the contents into a folder where you can access it when you need it.
- After extracting the contents of the .zip, open up the raptor application.
- Select: English
- Go to the top bar and click Fics and select "Connect". From there you should be able to log in.
- You will notice League Match is checked. If you aren't using it to play a league match simply uncheck it.
- If you have League Match checked, you will be prompted with a dialogue with 3 choices: Pass, Captain, or Player
- If you know exactly what you're doing, simply press pass and you'll be logged in. ONLY CHOOSE CAPTAIN IF YOU ARE SETTING UP THE EXAMINE BOARD BEFORE THE MATCH. Everybody else should press player.
- If you pressed pass, follow the instructions follow steps 2-6 of this page: CLICK HERE If you pressed captain, examine mode will be set up automatically upon log in. If you pressed player, you will be prompted with a captain name. Type in the captain name that you will be observing. The program will send you to observe the captain. If the captain isn't logged on, it will try every once in a while to observe him when he does connect.
- On the bar above your console, you will see that there are simple user buttons to check the date and time and challenge. When you click Challenge, just type in your opponent's username, check the correct color and click ok.
- You will notice other buttons that you can use. If you click on the Save button, you can keep a log of what goes on in your console. This will be good for reporting abuse and documenting anything.
- If you're ever away, if you click on the speech bubble, you can see all the personal tells you missed while you were gone.
- The magnifying glass is the search option. If you type a word or name into the white console bar and click the magnifying glass, it will search the console for that word. This can be useful if you want to remember what a captain told you earlier.
- You can click the musical notes to have personal tells read to you.
- If you go up to the top and click Fics, there are puzzles and other fun things.
- If you go to File--> Preferences, you can change the chess set, chess board, and other settings.
