How it Works~For Captains only
What it means to be a Captain or a co-captain
Each team MUST have a captain, a co-captain is optional. Your job as a captain is to lead your team, you will communicate directly with league officials. You need to check your email or Facebook often for messages and you must be reliable. You will send in the lineups and send in results at latest the day after the match. All Captains MUST read through this page before starting. Captains are also in charge of registration details and in charge of making sure that everybody reads and understands the contract.
Every Saturday, please send your line up to this email address: [email protected] in this format:

This is DUE a day after the match, preferably right after.
Please show up at least 15 minutes early to the match and type: examine
This should pull up a chess board and will serve as the team room. Instruct your members to type: observe <your username> This will allow you all to chat using the: kib <message> command. example: kib hi, can't wait to play! Please arrive before your team members so that you can set up the examine board, or instruct your team members to do so. Make sure that everybody in the team closes the team board before starting their game.
Take your team onto the Server and teach them how it works
Make sure that you take your team onto FICS and go through with them step by step all of these steps on this page which they will follow when the league starts: Free Chess Server instructions~ Click here! Please make sure your players are ready to go and understand and follow ALL the steps. We will not have time to deal with those who don't know how to use the Server, late slips will be given out to those who fail to start their games.
Please add all your players on your notify list
Type: +notify <username> For each of your players, you will be notified on their arrival and departure. That way you know who is here and who isn't here from your team and if necessary you can contact your missing teammate. It is also very helpful if you could make a note if your player is late more than 5 minutes or 15 minute and message the president the information.
Before the opening round Captains should have done these things:
1. Taken the whole team on FICS and gone over this page with them. Click here!
2. Read all the rules page and the how it works page and gone over the basics of them with the team.
3. Shared the contract information with the team.
4. Sent in registration information
5. Read over all of this page and understood it all of it
6. Talked to the team about cheating, how it's unacceptable and how to report it.
